Press Release Acumen Learning is proud to announce that Ben Cook, MBA, Acumen Learning President, will present the keynote address at the Medical Affairs Professional Society's (MAPS) 2018 annual meeting in Miami on February 25-27.
Cook will share his insights and vision about how CEOs think about their businesses, and why business acumen training is a game changer for medical affairs professionals to see their role in driving company success. His keynote entitled 'Medical Affairs and Business: Winning Across the Spectrum of Business' will teach attendees a new way of thinking about their businesses, add new tools to the toolbox, and enhance their ability to meet the needs of their most important stakeholders- their patients.
Now more than ever, patients want to know the value of their healthcare decisions- not only positive treatment and outcomes, but also cost of care and economic value. With the growing trend toward value-driven healthcare, medical affairs professionals must be as familiar with the financial side of their business as they are with the science behind their products. Whether they're field-based or office-based, a business acumen foundation gives these individuals a solid understanding of the big picture of how their company makes and uses its money, and how the different moving parts of the company come together to impact the bottom line. This knowledge equips medical affairs professionals to break down departmental silos and become more effective in their work with colleagues and execution of business strategies. This results in unrealized efficiencies and increased service that lead to profitable and sustainable growth.
