Kevin Cope, Founder & CEO
Kevin Cope is the chief executive officer of Acumen Learning and author of the #1 Wall Street Journal and New York Times bestseller, Seeing the Big Picture. He founded the company in 2002 with his business partner Stephen M.R. Covey. Cope oversees the corporate direction and strategy of Acumen Learning, focusing on leadership, innovation, and customers. He says, "Our primary purpose as a business is to provide unequaled value to our clients through a customized business acumen training experience that delivers exceptional results."
Before founding Acumen Learning, Cope held a variety of management, operations, and sales roles at Franklin Covey ultimately serving as the company's president of international. His focus on customers, innovation, improved operational efficiency, and execution played an instrumental role in establishing Franklin Covey as a market leader.
Cope has been recognized as a top rated speaker at national conventions including SHRM and ATD, he’s been a guest on news and business talk radio programs such as NPR, and has been featured in business publications including Chief Executive and Fast Company.
Cope has a degree in business finance from Brigham Young University. He lives in Utah with his wife and has 6 children and 5 grandchildren. He also travels extensively, skis, and is an avid reader.
Ben Cook, President
Ben Cook is president of Acumen Learning and reports to chief executive officer Kevin Cope. He is responsible for driving customer focus and intellectual rigor into all aspects of Acumen Learning's business. In this capacity, Cook serves as a master trainer and works with Acumen Learning's leadership team and senior consultants to develop and deliver customized training programs that increase customer retention, value delivered, satisfaction, and loyalty. Under his leadership, Acumen Learning has achieved record top-line growth rates. He says, "High-performance cultures are built on employees who think like owners, who take personal responsibility for overall business performance. This is not only what we teach, it’s what we strive to emulate in our own business."
Cook has been with Acumen Learning since 2006. His work includes training and coaching engagements for AT&T, AutoZone, Baxter International, Boeing, BP, Cigna, DuPont, General Electric, The Home Depot, Hewlett-Packard, Humana, KPMG, Mattel, Medtronic, Nestle, Nissan, Novartis, Philips, and Verizon. Prior to joining Acumen Learning, he held positions at Dell. There he had responsibilities for manufacturing and global service brand management. Prior to joining Dell, Cook had product line finance responsibilities at Proctor and Gamble.
Cook received his MBA from Brigham Young University. It was at that same institution where he earned his BA in english literature and teaching on a college football scholarship.
Cook resides in Lindon, Utah and loves spending time with his wife and four children. In his free time, he enjoys water skiing, snowboarding, reading, and traveling.
Sharon Biegler, Chief of Staff
Sharon Biegler has served as Acumen Learning's chief of staff since October 2003 and reports directly to chief executive officer Kevin Cope. As chief of staff, she is responsible for helping drive internal projects and initiatives to support future growth. Biegler plays a key role in managing the CEO’s financial and administrative operations in addition to guiding human capital initiatives and projects. In this role, Biegler oversees the support of clients with a focus on improving the customer experience to build lifetime partnerships. She says, "Being a great business partner first and foremost is a founding principle of Acumen Learning. We want to be your favorite training provider – accountable, flexible, and easy to work with."
Prior to joining Acumen Learning, Biegler held various administrative and financial roles reporting directly to company owners. She has a degree in sports medicine from Brigham Young University. Biegler enjoys cooking, skiing, and traveling.
